The tropical components of this wine jump out of the glass with beautiful aromas of Guava, melon, pear, and citrus notes. Good acid upon entry with a rich creamy texture through the mid-palate, the Guava and melon characteristics in this wine are predominate. It continues with mineral flavors supported by integrated notes of oak, which rounds out the finish.
For the second year in a row, the 2015 harvest began as one of the earliest on record in Sonoma County. Just after midnight on July 29th the first grapes of the year were harvested in the Russian River Valley. A crazy harvest that saw a hand full of varieties ripping within two weeks of each other, including white varietals such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris, and red varietals Pinot Noir, Grenache, and Zinfandel. With this being said you can imagine how crazy and fast wineries filled up and we were doing not stop driving back and forth from CA to WY on top of it. Crazy!! Farming was a challenge this year with a warm winter, a cool spring and a couple of summer heat waves that resulted in a high-quality vintage but a very small yield compared to the last couple of record breaking vintages. The 2015 vintage has produced tremendous wines both richness and elegance. Make sure you get your hands on some because there is not going to be many produced. Cheers!
